Can a collection – or more generally collecting – be considered as an archive? Nomas Foundation, in collaboration with Kadist Art Foundation (Paris) and David Roberts Art Foundation (London), will indagate notions of collection/collecting through an interdisciplinary curatorial workshop, that will be held in Rome from 2 to 6 July.
The participant scholars, from arts courses of three acclaimed international postgraduate programs schools (Curating the Contemporary, London Metropolitan University & Whitechapel Gallery, London, UK, Fine Arts Sandberg Istitut, Amsterdam NL, Design and Production of Visual Arts IUAV Venezia, IT), and selected through a call promoted by the 3 foundations, will spend a one week –research period in Rome, visiting museums’ s collections and cultural insitutions, ineracting with curators, artists and directors. The aim of the workshop is encouraging new ways of thinking, sharing and producing knowledge about collections..

Following the workshop, the scholars will have the opportunity to produce a project under the supervision of the foundation’s artistic directors: Sandra Terdjman & Léna Monnier (Kadist), Vincent Honoré (DRAF), Cecilia Canziani & Ilaria Gianni (Nomas).
