On Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at 8.30 pm, the Museum MAXXI will host the preview of the docu-film Roma Isola Aperta. The event is in the frame of the 17th edition of Roma Film Fest, Freestyle section.

Conceived and curated by Raffaella Frascarelli and Sabrina Vedovotto, the docu-film is produced by the Academy of Fine Arts of Rome and Nomas Foundation. Roma Isola Aperta is directed by Monkeys Video Lab (Simone Nazzareno Valente, Alessio Rucchetta, Valerio Sammartino) and it has involved in its realization the students of the didactic laboratory "Controcampo" of the Dipartimento di Progettazione e Arti Applicate (courses of Photography and Video and of Multimedia and Technological arts) of the Academy of Fine Arts of Rome.

Roma Isola Aperta offers a unique view of the Roman art scene, giving us an insight into the artists' studios settled in the Capital. The docu-film brings to the knowledge of the general audience the works and the research of the artists, through images and words related to their daily life.

Some single documentaries, devoted to the artists who live in Rome, are already available on the YouTube Channel of Nomas Foundation with English subtitles.Roma Isola Aperta comes from roma città aperta, a project in progress, conceived by Raffaella Frascarelli and Sabrina Vedovotto in 2020, with the aim to lead the public toward the arts and the artists, through a series of studio visits and other initiatives. To purchase the tickets, please visit the website of the Rome Film Fest 2022.
