Nomas Foundation wins the Montblanc De La Culture Arts Patronage Award 2019

Nomas Foundation is the Italian winner of the Montblanc de la Culture Patronage Award 2019, a prestigious annual award assigned by Montblanc in the context of its constant commitment as an active promoter of the arts and culture. The other winners were Marcelo Rosenbaum for Várzea Queimada (Brazil), Oscar Muñoz for Lugar a Duda (Colombia), Sandra Terdjman for COUNCIL and KADIST (France), Chistoph Tannert for Künstlerhaus Bethanien (Germany), Robert Ho Yau Chung for Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation (Hong Kong), Tae- Young Chung for Storage and Gapado Air (Korea), Aimée Labarrere de Servitje (Mexico) as recognition for her support in diverse organizations such as Fundación Olga y Rufino Tamayo, Patronato de Arte Contemporáneo A.C., and MUAC (Museo Universitario de Arte Contemporáneo), Inna Bazhenova for IN ARTIBUS Foundation (Russia), Han Nefkens for Han Nefkens Foundation and Art Aids Foundation (Spain), Felix Lehner for Sitterwerk (Switzerland), Valeria Napoleone for Valeria Napoleone XX Contemporary Art Society (United Kingdom), and Jasper Johns for Foundation for Contemporary Performance Arts (United States).
The candidates were selected by an international jury composed of 50 cultural personalities. The final choice was left to the Curatorium of the Montblanc Cultural Foundation made up by Anne Barlow (Director, Tate St. Ives), Sunjung Kim (Director, Gwangju Biennial), Jean de Loisy (Director, École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts of Paris), Franklin Sirmans (Director, Perez Art Museum Miami), Jochen Volz (Director, Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paolo), and Presidents Sam Bardouil and Till Fellrath.
Commenting on the assigned prizes of this year, Sam Bardouil and Till Fellrath state: “The winners of each country were chosen for their extraordinary history of personal engagement and support to the work of emerging artists and cultural producers, advantaging their respective communities.” Vincent Montalescot, Board Member of Montblanc Cultural Foundation added: “Over the years, the prize has become a platform that encourages the new generation of patrons to leave their mark, enriching the mind of the audience and inspiring them with new perspectives conceived by artists from all over the world.”
The Award ceremony took place on May 23, 2019 in the wonderful Etruscan National Museum of Villa Giulia in Rome with the presence of the presidents of the Montblanc Cultural Foundation, Till Fellrath and Sam Bardaouil,Vincent Montelascot, Vice President Marketing Montblanc International, and with some winning European Foundations of the year.
Thanks to the support of Montblanc de La Culture Arts Patronage Award, Nomas Foundation will promote a project focused on the public space of urban outskirts, to promote economy and moral subjectivity: art as aesthetic vocabulary to translate the present moment of contemporary society, aspiring to build a global community, that will promote truly equal cultural enrichment and economic opportunities.
