May 30th, 2017, at 5.00pm
Koninklijk Nederlands Instituut Rome, via Omero 10, Rome
On the occasion of the exhibition Homestead of Dilution, currently hosted at Nomas Foundation, the Koninklijk Nederlands Instituut Rome invited Domenico Mangano & Marieke van Rooy to speak about the Dilution Project, a long term artistic research project on the heritage of the Nieuw Dennendal experiment, a 1970s countermovement in the world of mental healthcare carried out by Carel Muller in the Netherlands. In this circumstance the book, Homestead of Dilution, will be presented. The publication, which is conceived as an extensive reader on the concept of "dilution", is designed by Bardhi Haliti and published by Onomatopee. It includes documentation of art works by the artists and texts by John Foot, Ilaria Gianni, Niekolaas Johannes Lekkerkerk, Marieke van Rooy, Aaron Schuster, and Esther Vossen.
The Dilution Project is developed by Domenico Mangano & Marieke van Rooy in collaboration with Kunsthuis Syb, Het Vijfde Seizoen, Instituto Buena Bista, Onomatopee and the Mondriaan Fund.
The free event will start at 5pm. It will be followed by a cocktail.
