Alessandro Sarra is born in Rome. He lives and works in Rome. He starts at the end of 80’s. Under the influence and inspiration of some of the most important artists of Arte Povera (Mario and Marisa Merz, Jannis Kounellis, etc.), he devotes himself to the study of raw and poor materials. His very personal research is rooted in the essence of the natural forms and in the universal values. It consists in the individualization of the rhythms and harmonies that unite or divide the different elements. His principal means of expressions are painting and, sometimes, installations.
In 1990, he participates for the first time to an important collective exhibition at Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna in Rome. Then he participates to various collective and personal exhibition, in Italy and abroad (Casa Leopardi, Recanati; Studio B3, Milan; Centro per l'arte Contemporanea Onex, Ginevra; Annamarie Linke, Amsterdam; American Accademy in Rome etc.).
